Politics and Voting in Malaysia

Coat of ArmsI’ve never been into politics simply because I have no interest and its not my kind of game. Having said that, this is actually the first year I will be exercising my voting right as a Malaysian citizen. I managed to register myself at the LCCT as I was headed out on a holiday trip. Seeing a make shift desk at the airport, my then gf, and now wife suggested that I register myself, which I duly did.

Government, politics & etc… call me naive but I was never really concerned with it all until recently. I managed to learn more of what’s happening by reading the papers and watching the news. Plus seeing the American polls on CNN made it all the more interesting to follow. I did a search for “voting in Malaysia” in google and ended up at some interesting sites. If you want to know a summarised version of what the voting process is like in Malaysia, I recommend visiting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elections_in_Malaysia . Its a pretty good read and should give you a rough idea of what’s the electoral process is like.

HAPPY VOTING!!!

Malaysian Radio Control Modellers Forum

The Radio Control model forum which used to be hosted here at OPP has now been moved to its very own domain since it was a little off topic in this domain. I have decided that Ourplaypen.com will purely be a personal website.

The dedicated website for the Radio Control Forum & Gallery has been moved to its very own home at http://www.rcbuddies.com. Its about time the Forum had its own home and I’m glad to inform all members and visitors of the successful migration of all membership and forum postings to the new hosting as of yesterday (12 Feb 2008)

If you are a Malaysian Radio Control fan, do become an RC Buddy and visit us at http://www.rcbuddies.com! Is that a cool and easy to remember name or what!? I’m surprised the domain was still available for registration.

Car breaks down while going up Genting Highlands

Car on Tow TruckHere’s a picture of my car (Opel Vectra 2.0) loaded on top of a Flatbed tow truck up in Genting Highlands at approx 1:30 in the morning! Just had to take this picture for memories sake! What was supposed to be a drive up to Genting for a quick get away ended up in a night to be remembered. The car broke down at 11:30pm and the two truck drive got to us by 1:30am! Spent the next 10 minutes or so loaded the car and another 10 mins or so driving up to the top of Genting so that we can do the “U-turn” to drive back down towards Sunway Damansara where my workshop is. We finally reached at 3:30am and got back home by 4am!

I seem to be using the tow service quite a bit recently. he he. Am going to overhaul the engine totally so as to eradicate the problem. I guess old age caught up with the engine finally. The cam shaft bearings and piston sleeves have to be changed and rebored. Hopefully that would solve the engine oil pressure problem. Genting was just too tough on the engine. I was surprised coz the engine was just top-overhauled a week prior to this breakdown. What a bummer!
