My First Inverted Heli Flight
I finally did it! Got enough balls to flip my heli upside down for the first time in my life today (12 Nov 2007). Its a day to celebrate! I not only did it once but at least 3-4 times and though they were hairy.. at least I can say I did it. Somehow it’s just different doing it on a real RC chopper as compared to the simulator. The adrenaline was definitely flowing!
One thing that I’ve get to get use to is the amount of negative pitch to feed in to remain inverted. I noticed I was going to the extremes with the negative pitch in fear that the heli would come plumetting down! I guess I’llĀ have to refine my pitch and throttle changes for inverted flight.
This picture shown here is actually a picture of my chopper from a video which my friend took. Decided against putting the video up as its a whopping 25MB large and the video wasn’t that great as he used my camera in video mode to capture it. Thus its small and unclear plus very shaky. I must learn to fly a little more stable haha.
Note: I was flying my MINI TITAN E325 on stock parts except for carbon blades. GY401, S9257 Digital Tail Servo, HS-65HB for CCPM and FlightpowerEvo25 2170 pack. I was unable to use my semi-busted lipo 1800 Flightpower pack as it the ESC cutoff came into play ever since I put on the S9257 servo. I guess it was draws more power than the HS-65HB I used to have for the tail.
